Environmental Control & Life Support Systems Products

Paragon is your one-stop shop for affordable, reliable ECLSS products, all tested through nominal and off-nominal scenarios in our ECLSS Human-rating Facility. Our products include:

  • Complete ECLSS, customized for the specific requirements of your mission and vehicle
  • Subsystem assemblies, including pressure control systems
  • Life support systems for microgravity lifescience experiments
Environmental Control and Life Support System
Paragon has developed an affordable, reliable ECLSS that can be customized to your vehicle and mission requirements, whether in space, on dry land or in water. Our ELCSS will fly on Rocketplane’s suborbital vehicle, and takes into account the specific needs of its operators and customers for safety and comfort.
Spacecraft Pressure Control System
Bigelow Aerospace flew our launch vent valve assembly and pressure relief valve on their 2006 Genesis 1 test flight and our launch vent valve assembly on their 2007 Genesis 2 test flight. Spacecraft Pressure Control System
Solid Oxide Electrolysis
Paragon is developing an electrolysis system that enables 100% regeneration of oxygen in cabin air. The system eliminates hydrogen handling, works irrespective of gravity and pressure, has no moving parts or multiphase flows, and requires no expendables. Solid Oxide Electrolysis
CO2 Removal in a Portable Life Support System
Paragon is developing a novel CO2 control technology for space suits (patent pending). The system is applicable on the Moon or Mars. It uniquely couples the thermal and CO2 control subsystems to enable rengeneralbe, CO2 removal to a CO2 environment such as Mars. Further, it does not consume earth-delivered water for cooling and instead, can use consumables readily available on Mars. CO2 Removal in a Portable Life Support System
T-Cell Growth System
Paragon has completed biological, vibration and centrifuge testing of its T-Cell Growth System for use on the Shuttle and ISS. The sealed “Petri Dish” system propagates live mouse, rat, and human thymus tissue to investigate the problem of reduced white blood cell count in long-duration astronauts. T-Cell Growth System
Autonomous Biological System

Paragon’s patented Autonomous Biological System (ABS) provides for long term growth and breeding of aquatic plants and animals, within complete material closure, isolated from the spacecraft life support system and cabin atmosphere contaminants, and with little need for astronaut intervention. The ABS has been successfully flown on the Shuttle, during two four-month Mir missions, and for over 18 months on ISS. See our Firsts page for more information.
