Environmental Control & Life Support
Systems Engineering
Paragon is the only small business with human-rated spacecraft ECLSS experience, and the only company with a cost structure appropriate for entrepreneurial private space enterprises. For the past six years we have been responsible for ECLSS design on every one of Lockheed Martin’s human-rated vehicle design teams. We also have more crew-time experience operating regenerative life support systems (over 10 years) and more long-duration space biology experiments (over 2 years) than any other organization in the world. For descriptions of our recent ECLSS projects please go to our Programs page.
Paragon offers practical ECLSS, human factors and crew systems solutions optimized for specific applications in extreme environments. Our services include:
ECLSS requirements definition and documentation
Proprietary thermal control and ECLSS modeling software for system tradeoff and optimization. Includes launch mass, power use, technology risk, consumables, re-supply analysis, and maintenance requirements
ECLSS and subsystem design for specific applications
ECLSS simulations and testing: breadboarding, bench-testing, and integrated testing in our ECLSS Human-rating Facility
Atomic/molecular-level ECLSS mass flow modeling
Gas control and monitoring systems
Mass, power, thermal and volume analysis
