Environmental Control & Life Support Systems (ECLSS)
Paragon designs & delivers fully modular life support systems which meet or exceed NASA human flight safety standards and can be used for commercial applications. Human space flight is an incredible experience, and can be enjoyed in a comfortable shirtsleeve environment created and controlled by ECLSS. Each subsystem in ECLSS interacts with the others and with the crew, making it central to the success of human exploration.
In addition to other programs, Paragon is providing the Environment Control and Life Support System (ECLSS) for the Northrop Grumman Gateway HALO program.
The future of human spaceflight depends on the movement from open-loop to close-loop ECLSS. Closed-loop ECLSS allows consumable resources like water and Oxygen to be recycled for reuse, allowing for extended deep space missions where resupply from Earth is prohibitive or impossible. In response to this need, Paragon has been developing an integrated closed-loop ECLSS architecture over the last few years as part of an ECLSS Consortium. We designed and tested a closed-loop ECLSS architecture that was capable of supporting crew members on a fly-by mission to Mars and back as part of the Inspiration Mars Program.
